The Democratic Governors Association Lack of Imagination

Came across this ad from the Democratic Governors Association the other day and I almost fell out of my chair laughing:

Democratic Governors Association

I mean, really? It’s been over a decade since Al Gore tried, and failed, to steal the 2000 presidential election and liberals are still being sore losers? I had to click on the link and found continued hilarity:

Democratic Governors Association

Now that they control a majority of statehouses across the nation, Republicans are attempting a bold power grab to disenfranchise voters and repeat the Florida election debacle of 2000.

Right now, states with Republican governors or new GOP majorities are ramming through bills designed to make it harder for people to vote.

They’ll stop at nothing to steal the Presidency.

We have to act now to stop these bills from becoming law. The Democratic Governors Association is the only organization devoted solely to electing Democratic governors who will veto any and all attempts to limit voter rights. Use the form at the right to stand with the DGA and demand that Republicans stop their politically-motivated attempts to suppress votes.

Wait, wait, wait. The REPUBLICANS are trying to steal the presidency? This from the same party that stole the election for Al Franken? The same party that lost every recount in the Florida battle in 2000 and had to rely on a liberal activist Florida Supreme Court to reinvent very clear election laws?

Coincidentally, USA Today went back and recounted every ballot from Florida and found that Bush still would have won, except this time with an even larger margin.

But I digress.

Even if Gore would have won what the heck is the point in fighting this battle again? Is the DGA trying to tap into the sore loser political cleavage? Is that a huge part of the Democratic Party?

I can’t stop thinking about Uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite: If coach had put me in 4th quarter we would’ve won state for sure. No doubt, no doubt in my mind.

If this is the best the DGA and the rest of the Democratic Party has then I really can’t wait until November.
