More evidence that modern liberalism is a mental disorder:

A self-proclaimed animal rights activist in Ohio has been charged with soliciting a hit man to kill a random person wearing fur, either by shooting the individual or slitting his or her throat.

Meredith Lowell, 27, of Cleveland Heights, is accused of creating a phony Facebook profile with the intention of contacting a would-be killer, according to the affidavit filed in an Ohio district court.

Lowell allegedly posted on the social media website the following request: “I would like to create an online community on facebook which would allow me to find someone who is willing to kill someone who is wearing fur toward the end of October 2011 or early November 2011 or possibly in January 2012 or February 2012 at the latest.”

An undercover FBI agent then contacted her, posing as a hit man after the agency subpoenaed Facebook to uncover details about her profile.

She then allegedly requested that the murder take place at a local library and that she be present so that she could then hand out documents about animal cruelty after the homicide.

“Bring a sharp knife that is at least 4 inches long, it should be sharp enough to stab someone with and/or to slit their throat to kill them,” Lowell allegedly wrote in an e-mail, according to the affidavit.

The individual should be at least 12 years old, but “preferably 14 years or older,” Lowell allegedly wrote.

“I want the person dead in less than 2 minutes (under 2 minutes or 1 minute or less would be better.)”

How can someone other than the mentally deranged think that the life of an animal is more sacred than that of a human? I’m not saying that every liberal believes this radicalism but a lot do. Case in point I wrote a post in October about Population Matters, a liberal group who thinks our world is becoming so overpopulated that we should consider radical social engineering, including the killing of humans, in order to protect the environment. It stemmed from another post in September where a commenter argued the same thing on my blog.

Let’s also not forget Oscar Ramiro Ortega, the Occupy protester who fired off a few rounds at the White House. Let’s not forget the lunacy of the entire Occupy movement for that matter. Perhaps a better comparison to this animal rights nut would be deranged eco-terrorist James Jay Lee who attacked and took hostages at the Discovery Channel building in 2010.

This lunacy needs to stop. I’m not saying these people are mentally deranged because of liberal ideology. It’s just strange that so many mentally deranged are drawn to liberal ideology.

Truth be told, I’m only making this point because I am tired of the left accusing conservatives of being crazy. They have made the arguments that I’ve just made against conservatives for decades. Every time something like the Gabrielle Giffords shooting happens the left is quick to blame people like Sarah Palin, our “rhetoric” and the things we stand for as evidence for these heinous crimes. When someone like James Jay Lee or Meredith Lowell commit crimes in the name of liberal issues then they are silent.

The fact of the matter is that the mentally ill fixate on certain things. From John Hinckley being obsessed with Jodie Foster to the Columbine shooters angry at the social order of High School. You can go back even farther to the madness of Karl Marx, Josef Stalin, and Adolf Hitler.

Every political ideology is bound to draw in some crazies, it happens. They fixate on political ideas and figures and it sometimes results in violent acts. But if it wasn’t politics that pushed them over the edge then it would have been something else. Mental illness is mental illness.

So to my lefty friends, stop blaming the deranged on political ideology. Or you can expect more articles like this one blaming modern liberalism for violent acts.
