Nuclear energy is the only way to go. But for the sake of argument let’s buy into this green energy crap that nuclear energy is cleaner than fossil fuel. So if we want less air pollution we should be trying to use less fossil fuel, which makes sense. However, global warming is the biggest lie known to mankind. What we really should desire is cleaner energy to lessen air pollution which indirectly affects our land and streams etc. Who wouldn’t want cleaner air?
So Japan made a few mistakes. Engineers make mistakes all the time. But when you look back at Japan, their nuclear problems are very small compared to all the physical damage that has occurred caused by Mother Nature. And the death toll of the tsunami overshadows the death toll caused by the immediate nuclear upset. But since these folks are calm and respectful, they will get through it and they will make their nuclear program better than ever. They will repair the damage caused by the Tsunami and get on with their prosperous lives.
So in a nutshell Japan made a few errors. They focused on building nuclear reactors that were earthquake proof. And they passed the test. So we all know now that the Japanese model used was successful against a major earthquake. But the second part of the equation was a mistake. It appears that in the event of an earthquake they automatically shutdown the reactors. That makes sense as long as they had back-up power to cool down the fuel rods. If they didn’t shut down all the reactors they would have had the electrical power to cool down the rods and there would have been no nuclear mishap. And after the tsunami passed they would have fired up the other reactors and all would be well. They also kept their back-up fuel for the back-up generators above ground. So when the tsunami hit the area, they lost all their back-up fuel. In the United States like squirrels we bury our back-up fuel. Without their back-up fuel they were flying blind! They had no clue what was going on inside the reactors.
Also keep in mind, Japan has no other choice than to use nuclear. They have no fossil fuels and it would destroy their economy if they had to import all energy as fossil fuel from foreign countries.
So Japan took a chance or trusted their engineers and they made poor judgments. They will correct their problems and as a result all of the nuclear industry will be better for it.
Our wonderful pundits in this country were quick to respond with anti-nuclear slurs. Thre Mile Island and Chernobyl were the buzz words. More people have died because of Green natural gas in the last century then those who have died from nuclear energy. But this terrible event will be a great learning experience for the nuclear world. There was no nuclear blast. There was no melting of hot nuclear fuel eating its way to the center of the earth. Sending it back to where it originally came from.
Most people don’t realize that 20% of all electricity from the general grid comes from nuclear energy in America right now! That’s pretty cool since we haven’t built a new reactor for a long, long time. There are over 100 nuclear reactors in the United States and that’s not counting private and military reactors. You don’t know it, but the United States is number one in nuclear energy. You wouldn’t know that by listening to the liberal media. And by the way TMI over came their problems and they are up and running producing American nuclear energy for a long time.
The question is do you want to pay $5 dollars or more for a gallon of gas or fuel oil? Do you want to be at the mercy of all our enemies who want to drive up the price of gasoline? You make the call: Nuclear or fossil fuel? Keep in mind that our enemies take a great deal of these profits and fund the Jihadists who want to see the infidels dead!
Do you have any idea how many windmills or solar cells it would take to replace one nuclear reactor? Keep in mind the reactor works when the wind doesn’t blow and the sun don’t shine! If we leave it up to the liberals, they would shut down all the American nuclear reactors, and stop all oil and gas exploration.
After the oil spill in the Gulf which dumped more oil in the water then any oil spill known to man-kind, there was a great deal of yelling and finger pointing. But since we have a Non-Bush in the White House, it doesn’t seem to have been a big deal after all. Maybe oil is not deemed evil by the liberals unless there is a Republican in the White House! Maybe after all oil and water does mix.
If you want to have the freedom to turn on your appliances when you want for as long as you want then vote for more energy. You can bet the Japanese will be back on line with their nuclear energy as soon as possible and safer than ever!
