That’s some pretty enthralling political commentary eh? Well actually it’s spot on considering the fact that no one really seems to know. Former Governor Buddy Roemer (D, R – LA) has formed a presidential exploratory committee. Here’s what you need to know:
-He served in the U.S. Congress as a Democrat from 1981-1988.
-He last won an election in 1987 when he became Governor of Louisiana.
-He switched from being a Democrat to a Republican during his term and ultimately coming in third in a primary in 1991. He finished behind convicted felon (served 8 years in jail) Edwin Edwards and David Duke…yes that’s right white supremacist DAVID DUKE.
-He ran again in 1995, coming in 4th.
-Politico reported that Roemer defined “eccentric” in many ways including, “having staffers wear rubber bands on their arms and slapping them if they thought negative things.”
-He promises to only accept donations for $100 or less.
-He’s been the president and CEO of Business First Bank.
-And apparently he served as a surrogate for Senator John McCain’s (R-AZ) failed 2008 bid for President.
I admit I know very little about this guy, but this should be pretty interesting to watch. The GOP nomination is starting to bring out a bunch of rando’s who really have no business running for President: Former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson, Ambassador John Bolton, Ambassador Jon Huntsman, Donald Trump, and Herman Cain to name a few. Who the heck else is gonna run for the big chair?
How about Ross Perot? He’s been pretty quiet for a decade or so…
